Pulse Adventure Tours

At Pulse, we create the space for you to get in touch with your truth, opening your path for deeper meaning and greater fulfillment in your life. We work with plant medicines such as Ayahuasca, Nunu, and Kambo using the traditional practices of the indigenous cultures of the Peruvian Amazon.
With great respect for the plants and the knowledge and healing that comes with them, our lineage of Shipibo shamans set the stage for truly deep and profound healing. Awaken your inner power through their sacred and powerful icaros (healing songs), and discover your connection to all things by exploring some of the 2.2 million hectare Pacaya Samiria National Reserve which is our backyard. Nourish your body and soul with fresh, clean, delicious meals that promote your ayahuasca experience, and integrate healthy habits into your routine with our yoga classes and extensive selection of gym equipment for all levels. Relax your mind and spirit with sound baths, meditations, pranayama breath work, and OM circles, or simply enjoy the tranquil views of both sunrise and sunset from our front porch on the banks of the Ucayali River, surrounded by lush biodiversity and the mesmerizing sounds of the jungle.

Medicine

We only use the 2 main ingredients in our Ayahuasca brew - Ayahuasca vine and Chacruna leaves, to ensure the integrity, strength, and purity of our medicine. Guests can also partake in ceremonies with Kambo (frog venom) and Nunu. See our website for more details on these medicines!

We are located 4 hours into the jungle from Iquitos, Peru.

For our jungle retreats, we meet on Day 1 of your retreat at a meeting location 25 minutes from the airport, Hotel La Casona (located at 147 Fitzcarrald, Iquitos). We do not offer airport transportation for these retreats, but if you book a room with La Casona the night before, they offer free airport pickup included in your stay. For the Machu Picchu & Ayahuasca Expeditions, depending on the route you choose, we meet at the same place in Iquitos (La Casona), or in Cusco, at Hotel Casa de la Gringa (No. 148 San Blas, Cusco). We have a trained medic on staff, as well as a fully-stocked first aid kid and a defibrillator.

We are located less than 2 hours by boat from the nearest hospital.

We have individual and group discussions and integration sessions available throughout your stay. Prior to your first ceremony, you will have a 1-on-1 discussion with our head Shaman (and female translator) to help set your intention for the first ceremony. Then, the morning after each of our 4 ceremonies per week, you are invited to a group sharing, where you can discuss your experiences with the group and shamans, if you desire. We find this to be a very crucial part of the healing process, but everything is completely optional and tailored to your comfort level. Shamans and staff are also available 24/7 for individual discussions, if desired.

Guests fill out a registration form when booking which asks relevant medical questions in addition to standard information. As well, about 2 week prior to your retreat, you will receive an email to schedule a 15-minute medical intake call with our transition coordinator, to go over any medications and last-minute questions. This is to ensure each guest the safest and most fulfilling experience possible.

We offer a post-retreat integration program, with one free post-retreat consultation with our transition coordinator, as well as the option to continue these sessions for the following months.

We have three shamans with combined 70 years of experience working with Ayahuasca. Our lead shaman Wiler, his maestro Gilberto, and his apprentice Angelita, are all from Pucallpa - the birth place of Ayahuasca, and they are all native Shipibo and sing in their native Shipibo dialect. Angelita is currently apprenticing to become a lead shaman herself, Wiler has more than 20 years of experience working with Mother Ayahuasca, as well as other master plants from the jungle, and Gilberto has more than 40 years of experience. They are knowledgeable about all sorts of plants, their Icaros (healing songs) are very powerful and their voices are strong and beautiful. They are very dedicated to the healing processes of our guests, and together, the symphony they create sets the stage for truly profound and deeply healing work.
