Foundation for Integrative AIDS Research (FIAR)

FIAR is a 501(c)3 non-profit based in Brooklyn, NY. FIAR is proud to have worked with Assemblymember Rosenthal's office and a team of New Yorkers to submit a bill creating an Institute for Therapeutic Psychedelic Research (ITPR). While many studies are ongoing, often they are undertaken with hospitals, universities or industry with deep pockets. As such, they don't address all of the clinical questions of interest to communities and sometimes ignore some of the therapeutic options (e.g., LSD or ibogaine). The ITPR will facilitate such research by providing structural support such as an Institutional Review Board to assess proposed protocols, Investigational New Drug applications, assuring good manufacturing practices and identity, potency and purity of interventions (e.g., whole psilocybin mushrooms instead of extracts).
