ICEERS is an international non-profit organization based in Barcelona, Spain that is on a mission to transform society’s relationship with psychoactive plants. Founded in 2009, ICEERS’ vision is to manifest a future where psychoactive plant practices are valued and integrated as a healthy and respected part of society.
The organization addresses some of the primary issues resulting from the globalization of ayahuasca, iboga, and other ethnobotanicals. This includes work in the areas of research, education, and service. Research activities span topics with regards to potential therapeutic, clinical trials, policy analysis, and more. ICEERS organizes the World Ayahuasca Conference (the third will be held in 2019, http://www.ayaconference.org) conferences on iboga/ibogaine, advocates for access to medical cannabis, and advocates for drug policy reform at local and international levels with regards to traditionally-used psychoactive plants.
The Ayahuasca Defense Fund program (http://www.ayahuascadefense.com) is dedicated a world where ayahuasca and other traditionally used psychoactive plants ca be used legally and safely, providing education, legal support, and advocating for policy reform.
ICEERS is also known for providing un-biased, evidence-based information for people interested in psychoactive plants and provides a free help service for people who have had difficult experiences or who are needing assistance with integration (http://iceers.org/support-service.php). Recently, ICEERS organization has launched PsychePlants (https://www.psycheplants.org/) an information hub and e-health platform.
